Record of all vaccinated children should be compiled, Najam Ahmad Shah

Secretary Local Government, Government of Sindh Najam Ahmad Shah has said that records of all children vaccinated in the province should be compiled regularly, and complete records of vaccines provided to private hospitals and dispensaries should be kept in accordance.

Najam Ahmad Shah expressed these views while presiding over a meeting on the Digital Birth Registration Project which is running with the collaboration of Sindh Local Government Department and UNICEF. The meeting was attended by officials from UNICEF, Health Department, and other concerned departments. 

On this occasion, the Secretary Local Government Sindh was informed that under the Digital Birth Registration Project, the process for registration of newborn births starts immediately after birth in different districts of Sindh, and birth registration desks have also been established in different hospitals in this regard. 

Najam Ahmad Shah was informed that the registration software for every child born is linked to the central database of NADRA, which would help the child in the future for obtaining official documents in his academic and professional matters. Addressing the participants of the meeting, Sindh Local Government Secretary Najam Ahmad Shah said that timely completion of various projects in collaboration with international organizations will benefit the people and public interest is the topmost priority of Sindh LG department. The Secretary Local Government Sindh told the Health Department officials that the complete record of all children vaccinated from public or private hospitals should be made part of the government accounts with full transparency and the hospitals or dispensaries to which vaccines and medicines are being provided, all records should be compiled regularly. Talking to our correspondent, Najam Ahmad Shah said that international organizations are working in partnership with the Sindh government on a number of health and education projects which will directly be benefiting the people of the province. The Sindh Local Government Department attaches importance to timely completion and transparency in all its externally funded projects. Therefore, there is no doubt that the projects launched for the welfare of the people of Sindh will result in a positive manner.
