Digital Birth Registration
•In 2014-2015 A pilot project was initiated from Thatta.
• Based on the achievements of the pilot project a Digital Birth Registration Cell was established in the Local Government in 2017 with birth registration services were started in Thatta, Badin and Naushahro Feroze.
• In 2018, the DBR project was scaled up to Karachi.
•A birth registration strategy and bye-laws were prepared.
•In 2019-2020, birth registration in schools formal and non-formal, and health facilities were initiated.
•In 2020 birth registration was included a services for integrated services delivery for polio high risk union councils.
Digital Registration Process
During the project in target districts, 753,426 Birth Registration of Children were achieved.
46% girls and 54% boys were registered.
•A Civil Registration and Vital Statistics cell is notified in Local Government Department and activities ware scaled up to all districts of Sindh.
•Government of Sindh has allocated public funds to strengthen the birth registration and CRVS system.
•An MoU with NADRA is signed, and all union council are working online.
•2 CRVS Modal Districts are notified i.e., Karachi Central and Larkana.
